Dear Colleague,

Eastern Michigan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in College Counseling within the Department of Leadership and Counseling. This position is part of a new university-wide cluster hire focused on college student mental health and wellness. As a member of this cohort, the successful candidate will join the College Student Mental Health Research Collaborative, working closely with interdisciplinary faculty partners and community practitioners to advance scholarship that directly informs practice and institutional policy. This position comes with course release time and funding opportunities.

Our CACREP-accredited Counseling programs in College Counseling, School Counseling, and Clinical Mental Health Counseling offer outstanding teaching, supervision, and clinical training environments, including both community-based and school-based counseling clinics. We are seeking emerging teacher-scholars who are committed to ethical practice, cultural responsiveness, and meaningful research that supports the well-being of diverse college students.

This position offers an excellent professional development opportunity for early-career faculty members eager to build a strong research agenda alongside collaborative colleagues and contribute meaningfully to a growing mental-health-focused initiative at an institution nationally recognized for its support of social mobility and first-generation student success.
