Accessibility Services Coordinator/Counseling Center Staff Clinician

Defiance College is currently seeking an Accessibility Services Coordinator & Counseling Center Staff Clinician. This individual will coordinate all aspects of student accessibility services, ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws to provide access and accommodation for students with disabilities. The individual will also serve as a clinician in the Student Counseling Center.

Accessibility Services responsibilities include: develop and implement policies and programs designed to enhance student accessibility services; perform intake assessments; identify reasonable accommodations; assess and facilitate the implementation of accommodations; and educational outreach. Clinician responsibilities include: provide individual and group counseling; assist with crisis response (which may require evening and weekend response); conduct mental health and wellness outreach programs; and provide training and consultation on college student mental health.

The successful candidate for this full-time 12-month position must possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and be familiar with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. A Master’s degree in Counseling, Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, College Student Personnel, or another related field is required. Additional preferred qualifications include prior experience working with individuals with disabilities and college students.
