Hello!

We are sending this information to counseling students and the counseling community. Our names are Nancy Lee, Callie Wheeler, and Carrie Graham. We are doctoral students in the School of Counselor Education and Supervision at Adams State University in Colorado. In addition, we are professional counselors and neurodiversity advocates.

To fulfill a degree requirement, we are conducting a qualitative research study exploring the experiences of neurodivergent students enrolled in counseling master's programs. The purpose of the study is to center student voices and learn more about student experiences. We hope the results of our study will enhance awareness and support for neurodivergent students, as well as identify issues that warrant further research or action.
We are recruiting the following individuals to participate in this study:


  *   18 years and older
  *   A graduate student currently enrolled in a master's of counseling program in the U.S.
  *   Self-identifies as neurodivergent and/or has one or more neurodivergent diagnoses that qualify for educational accommodations

If you wish to participate, you will be asked to complete a brief online screening form. After that, one of the researchers will contact you to schedule a 60-minute Zoom interview. There will be an informed consent form for you to sign, as well as a conversation about informed consent. We will send you the questions ahead of time. After the interview, there will be an optional 30 minute follow-up interview. Participation is entirely voluntary at all times, and you may withdraw from the study at any time. The study is confidential, and your information will be coded, meaning your responses will not be linked with identifying information.

This study has been approved and accepted by the Institutional Review Board at Adams State University (IRB 2023-12-12-01). The study is being completed under the supervision of faculty Dr. Sandra Gavin.
