[Counselor_Educ] Advocacy Opportunity: Reaching out to Legislators

Greetings everyone.

OSCA has reached out to us to advocate for amending language in Sec. 3319.2213 of HB 33 legislation that will burden our school counselors (both students and current professionals). Without amending the language, school counseling students will be required to “complete 12 hours of training about the building and construction trades that must be completed at a construction site or a trade training facility.”; to be counted towards their internship. In addition, current school counselors will be required to complete 4 hours of training on building and construction trades.
