2022-23 Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities of Ohio (SAIGEO) Emerging Leaders Program

The SAIGEO Emerging Leaders Program was designed to provide graduate counseling students and new professionals early in their careers with enriching experiences that support leadership skill and competency development, along with diverse opportunities to actively participate in SAIGEO Executive Board meetings, serve on a committee, task force, and/or engage in projects of interest, receive mentorship, build professional networks, and gain exposure to the responsibilities associated with fulfilling elected leadership positions.

Two graduate counseling students (one master's and one doctoral) and one new professional early in their career will be selected as Emerging Leaders to provide a minimum of 25 hours of service to SAIGEO during their 2022-23 term (July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023). Recipients must be an OCA and SAIGEO member at the time of application submission, and your status (i.e., master, doctoral, or new professional) should be based on your student/graduation status as of January 1, 2022. New professionals must have graduated within the previous year to qualify for the program.

Applicants who have exhibited exceptional leadership potential, and who hold a willingness to serve SAIGEO in a variety of roles for the betterment of the counseling profession and the consumers of counseling services are sought.

Interested applicants should submit the following to Chase Morgan-Swaney, 2021-22 SAIGEO President, at cts63 at uakron.edu<mailto:cts63 at uakron.edu>, no later than Monday, January 31, 2022:

2. Your curriculum vitae/résumé
      3. Two letters of recommendation describing your leadership skills and experiences, and reasons why you should be selected to serve as an Emerging Leader

The board will notify applicants of their status by Monday, February 14, 2022. Applicants must be able to commit to attending all SAIGEO Executive Board meetings which are held on the second Saturday of each month at 10am via Zoom.
