Dear Ohio University Counselor Education Student,

I am contacting you to participate in a dissertation pilot study of counselor education students regarding eating disorders counseling competency.

Link to survey: https://ohio.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9AII0qnAgY8dRaK

The purpose of this study is to understand eating disorder counseling skills, knowledge, and attitudinal awareness to further assess current counselor training and predictors of competence to address these concerns in a counseling or school setting.

Participation would involve completion of a short demographic survey and a questionnaire addressing eating disorders training and exposure within and outside of the practicum/internship experience. Participation in this survey is estimated to take less than 10 minutes of your time.

You must meet all criteria to participate in the study. Criteria for participation includes:

  * Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
  * Participants must be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral level counselor education program.

There are no direct benefits to you as a result of your participation; however, your participation may contribute to greater understanding of counselor trainee competence in addressing eating disorders and body image with their clients or students. You may withdraw or decline without penalty at any time.

This research has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB# 20-E-159) at Ohio University.

If you have any questions regarding this study, please contact the primary investigator, Devyn Savitsky, at ds292216 at ohio.edu or (631) 987-4980.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Devyn Savitsky (Primary Investigator, ds292216 at ohio.edu)
Dr. Mona Robinson (Advisor, robinsoh at ohio.edu)
