OSPF is offering a free workforce development in suicide prevention at Ohio University for mental health professionals and Masters/Ph.D. level clinical psychology students. I have attached a registration flier to this email. Please feel free to forward this to relevant employees, colleagues, contacts, and list-servs.



OSPF offers training for mental health professionals (and other relevant professionals) serving youth and young adults (10-24): the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS). This training will provide counselors, psychologists, and social workers with knowledge, skills, and practice in treating patients' suicide risk.



3 separate CAMS training components ensure professionals are prepared and confident in their abilities to help patients struggling with suicide ideation:

1) A self-paced, 3-4 hour online training teaches CAMS' theory and its completion is required prior to in-person workshop.

2) A 1-day role-play workshop featuring an experienced CAMS Clinician, provides practice using the CAMS treatment framework.

3) 8 CAMS follow-up group consultation calls provide feedback and helpful discussions for professionals implementing the CAMS treatment framework with patients.



CAMS training is being offered to all Ohio mental health professionals (and other relevant professionals) free of charge through funding received by SAMHSA GLS Grant SM062894. Usually, this training costs $315 per person. Participants will only be charged $30 to cover the cost of CEUs, lunch, and registration processing.
