Subject: dissertation participation request

Hello Dr. Robinson!

I hope you are doing well! My name is Cassandra Moffat and I am currently a doctoral candidate in the Counseling Psychology program at Carlow University. I am collecting data for my dissertation and reaching out to ask if you would be willing to forward this invitation to your faculty and students! The collection of this data has been approved by my university's Institutional Review Board. If you are willing to promote my research, please share the below information:

Invitation to Participate

Dear potential participant,

My name is Cassandra Moffat, M.S. and I am doctoral candidate in the counseling psychology program at Carlow University. I am currently working on collecting data for my dissertation. While there are no direct benefits to participating, it is my hope that data collected in this research will be a helpful addition to the literature around suicide assessment.

The main requirement for participation is that ALL participants must have graduated from a Master's in Counseling program within the last 10 years. If you do not meet this criteria the survey will take you directly to the end of the survey. All responses will be anonymous and confidential.

The purpose of the study is to determine if counselor self-efficacy translates to actual effectiveness with completing suicide assessments. The study will also look at other factors including perceived amount of training and years of experience to determine how these factors impact overall effectiveness with completing a suicide assessment. The survey is completed online and takes at most about 25- 30 minutes.

After the completion of the survey it would be greatly appreciated if the survey could be passed onto others to help reach an adequate sample size. If you have any questions or concerns you can find my contact information and the contact information for my advisor at the bottom of the page. If you need to get ahold of the Carlow University IRB, their information is on the consent page of the survey

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this message!

Sincerely,

Cassandra Moffat, M.S.
