Subject: Counselor Licensing Changes for Ohio
Dear Counselor and MFT educators – as part of the Board’s effort to streamline the license application process, during the March 2017 meeting of the CSWMFT Board, the Board voted to eliminate an application requirement for certain LPC and MFT applicants. The Internship Supervisor Evaluation Form for LPC applicants will no longer be required for LPC applicants graduating from CACREP-accredited programs. New applicants graduating from non-CACREP programs will be required to submit the Internship Supervisor Evaluation Form to the Board.
The Board also eliminated the Internship and/or Practicum Evaluation Rating Form for MFT applicants graduating from COAMFTE-accredited programs. New MFT applicants graduating from non-COAMFTE-accredited programs will be required to submit the Internship and/or Practicum Evaluation Rating Form.
These changes are effective as of March 17, 2017. Application instructions on the CSWMFT Board web site now reflect these changes. We hope the elimination of these forms for a majority of applicants will help to simplify the license application process.
Please feel free to share this news with current students.
Sincerely,
Brian Carnahan
