Subject: Legislative Advocacy Day Scholarships available with OCCA!

Greetings Everyone:

OCCA is excited to announce that we are providing three student scholarships for this year's Legislative Advocacy Day!

The Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) will hold its 2017 Annual Legislative Advocacy Day (LAD) on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the Riffe Center in downtown Columbus. The B&C South Meeting room on the 31st floor will be utilized for training, presentations, meals, and preparation before we have the opportunity to visit legislators across the street in the Ohio Statehouse. Amanda Sines of the Government Advantage Group, Brian Carnahan, Executive Director of the CSWMFT, and Medicaid Director Barbara Sears will be presenting. Click for more details about LAD: http://www.ohiocounseling.org/page-863976

The mission of OCCA is to foster student development and provide services that support emerging and state of the art knowledge and resources for counseling professionals in higher education. LAD is an exciting opportunity that seeks to empower counseling students and professional counselors to become effective legislative advocates. On this day, attendees will learn how to advance relevant state and legislative issues and will meet with legislative representatives to discuss counseling related concerns. LAD is also a meaningful opportunity for students, counselor educators and professional counselors to advance the counseling profession.

To apply for an OCCA LAD student scholarship please complete our online scholarship application by March 20, 2017. Scholarship winners will be notified by April 7, 2017.
We look forward to your interest in joining us for this leadership opportunity. The form is located at : https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NBRG2TP

Sincerely,
OCCA Executive Board
