Dear ACA Member,

The Senate is likely to begin voting as soon as tomorrow on repealing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). They may also vote for a replacement plan.  As of today the Senate leadership has not announced which version of their repeal/replace bill they will try to pass.  There is the version that simply repeals Obamacare and gives Congress two years to find a replacement.  There is the original Senate repeal and replace bill, there is the repeal and replace bill with the Cruz amendment, and there are other possibilities.  The American Counseling Association does not support any of these versions because all of them eliminate the current requirements that individual insurance policies include mental health coverage, and all of them would drastically cut Medicaid, by $800 billion in the next ten years in some cases.  The margin in the Senate is extremely close and every vote counts.  Please contact your Senators today and let them know you oppose attempts to eliminate mental health coverage requirements and drastic Medicaid cuts.
