The Director, Student Counseling Services:
*    reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs;
*    provides the leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the mental health services provided by the University;
*    oversees the delivery of services to MSU students including individual and group therapy, prevention and educational programs and workshops, crisis management, and acute hospitalization and management in addition to the overall operations of Student Counseling Services including supervision of staff, budget and administrative functions;
*    provides vision for MSU in addressing national and campus concerns through prevention, education and best practices.

Mississippi State University, a land-grant and sea-grant institution founded in 1878, is a Carnegie Research University (very high research activity) institution and the largest university in Mississippi. It is located in Starkville, about 170 miles southeast of Memphis, TN.
