The Department of Education & Counseling at Villanova University is seeking applications for a tenure track position with the rank of Assistant Professor. Position begins in the fall of 2017. The teaching load is 3/2 courses per semester. Villanova University’s Department of Education and Counseling, a CACREP-accredited program, offers master-level school and clinical mental health counseling specialties as well as an undergraduate counseling minor. Roles and Responsibilities: In addition to maintaining an active research agenda, our new colleague should be prepared to teach Lab in Counseling Skills and Human Growth and Development along with other core counseling courses in a way that fosters connections across the discipline and the Villanova community. Those with the desire to balance research, teaching/supervision, and service duties are an excellent fit. Additionally, a successful candidate will be a team player committed to contributing to program development for the graduate and undergraduate counseling programs through student advising, mentorship, committee work, and excellence in teaching and supervision.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education, from a CACREP accredited program, outstanding research potential and excellence in teaching. Candidates must also exhibit a commitment to the infusion of multicultural and social justice curriculum throughout their teaching, as well as efforts at inclusive instructional behaviors within the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with school counseling. Teaching experience in higher education; knowledge of CACREP standards; and excellent communication skills.
