Subject: Student Counselor Training on Client Referrals - Participants Needed


Dear Dr. Erby,



The ethics of referring a client based on a counselor's personal values has been a focus of recent litigation and legislation impacting the counseling profession.



The purpose of this research is to describe current training practices for educating student counselors about ethical client referral practices. Participation includes completing a brief demographic questionnaire and referrals survey and is estimated to require 10 minutes of time. Participants may also choose to enter a raffle to win one of two $25 gift cards.



This research is open to all master's students in clinical mental health or community counseling programs that have taken or are currently enrolled in practicum (i.e., have begun seeing clients).
