Position Description
Job Summary/Basic Function:

The University of North Texas is seeking to fill a Professor position for the College of Public Affairs and Community Service.
This position is a nine-month, tenure-track, position at the rank of Professor beginning fall 2017. The Ph.D. program in Health Services Research (HSR) provides opportunities for specialized expertise across several Concentration areas: Applied Gerontology, Audiology, Rehabilitation Science, & Speech-Language Pathology.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Summer employment is contingent on student demand and funding

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Audiology, Gerontology, Health Services Research, Speech Pathology, Rehabilitation, other Social Science with a health focus, or a related medical discipline with an existing record of external funding and a strong and viable research agenda. This position requires demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research, obtain peer-reviewed funding, mentor pre- and post-doctoral students and junior faculty, teach at the graduate level, and work collaboratively as members of interdisciplinary teams. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in relevant areas of expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have interests and expertise in applied research areas including, but not limited to, health policy analysis, audiology, speech pathology, disparities in health care and disability, disability and chronic health across the lifespan and/or health policy analysis. Candidates might have prior leadership experience in a health care setting or experience teaching in an accredited Health Care focused graduate program. The candidate will be expected to pursue an externally-funded research agenda while collaborating with other departments and divisions, across the University of North Texas System. A record of NIH or other relevant federal funding would be a plus.
