Tenure Track Faculty Position Available
Position: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor, and Director of CACREP Accredited Master's Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Tenure-line faculty position available August 21, 2018 in the Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology and Counseling at Ball State University, Muncie Indiana.
Position Description: Highly qualified counselor educator or counseling psychologist to direct CACREP accredited program in clinical mental health counseling and teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology and Counseling.
Minimum Qualifications: Counselor education applicants must be a graduate of a CACREP accredited doctoral program with at least three years of teaching experience in a CACREP accredited graduate program. Counseling psychologist applicants must be a graduate of an APA accredited doctoral program and have teaching experience in a CACREP accredited graduate program before July 1, 2013. The candidate should demonstrate professional competence in a specialty area within the field of counseling, must demonstrate sustained membership and active involvement in the American Counseling Association, its Divisions, or Affiliate Associations, and provide evidence of research and scholarly activity in counseling.
Preferred Qualifications: Eligibility for licensure as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can also contribute to other graduate programs within the department. Applicants should be able to mentor students on diversity issues and facilitate immersive learning experiences.
Certifications/Licensures: Licensed within first three years as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana.

About Department of Counseling Psychology, Social Psychology and Counseling: The department (www.bsu.edu/counselingpsychology<http://www.bsu.edu/counselingpsychology>) offers training leading to an undergraduate minor in Interpersonal Relations and the following degrees: M.A. in counseling (CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation Counseling programs), M.A. in Social Psychology, and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (APA accredited). The department has a strong multicultural and social justice mission that has been in place since the 1980s.
The Community Counseling degree program at Ball State University was initially accredited by ACES in February 1980 and then later grandparented into CACREP when it formed in 1981. This program was in the first group of training programs to be accredited by CACREP and it has maintained CACREP accreditation since 1981. It became an accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in July 2011. The faculty members involved in this program have extensive experience in ACA (e.g., Chairs of ACA and AMHCA Licensure Committees, Editor of JMHC, Co-Editor of Journal for Social Action in Counseling & Psychology, Editorial Board of JCD, JMHC, CES, and CDQ) and are recipients of ACA and AMHCA national awards.
