The University of North Florida is seeking an Assistant Professor for a 9-month, tenure track position in the CACREP-accredited, master's program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC). The program is located in the Brooks College of Health, Department of Public Health.
This is a full-time faculty position with 75% assigned time for teaching, 20% assigned time for scholarly activity, and 5% assigned time for service. Engagement in service to the program, the university, and the profession is expected.
The CMHC is a two-year, full-time, cohort model program that is designed to provide comprehensive training for individuals who wish to counsel diverse populations in a variety of mental health settings. It is a practitioner-scholar program consisting of 60 credit hours including 1,000 hours of clinical field experience. Required Qualifications
-Earned doctorate in Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP-accredited program conferred no later than August 2017
-Record of active engagement in scholarship activities
-Evidence of commitment to diversity, advocacy, and outreach
Preferred Qualifications
-Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health counselor in the State of Florida
-Experience in teaching counseling courses, mentoring students, and providing clinical supervision
-Expertise in assessment, group counseling, and/or trauma
