ACES Women’s Retreat:
There are still a few spaces left for the ACES Women's Retreat, October 6-8th. The retreat begins around 4 pm Tuesday and ends on Thursday after breakfast. Attendees will receive further information about transportation. For more information, see the website<http://ACAA.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT00NjM5NzYwJnA9MSZ1PTc3MjA2NDAyNyZsaT0yOTczNDY2NA/index.html> or contact Ann Vernon, Retreat Chair, at vernonann47 at gmail.com<mailto:vernonann47 at gmail.com>
ACES INFORM:
As you make plans to attend the ACES Conference in Philadelphia, PA, please consider attending and having your doctoral students attend the free pre-conference workshop, ACES INFORM (Institute for Research Mentorship)! This is the 4th ACES INFORM, which centers on sessions for research methods in counselor education. This full-day event on Wednesday, October 7 includes a variety of presentations to bring you up to speed on modern research methods related to quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, and single case research designs.
Career Link: ‪
There are two new exciting things the Career Link Committee will introduce at ACES 2016.

  1. There will be four mini-presentations in the Career Link area specifically related to the job search process. We have several exciting speakers, including ACES President Marty Jencius, who have agreed to present tips and strategies for job seekers. The space will be very limited, so please come early if you want to attend. The list of presenters and topics will be released in next month’s email.

  1. There will also be a few time slots for Universities Talks. Universities will have the opportunity to discuss their job postings in the Career Link space. Again, the time slots and space will be limited, however, it will be a way for those universities who signed up to discuss their position with interested candidates as a group (these will not be interviews). Dr. Kara Ieva (ieva at rowan.edu<mailto:ieva at rowan.edu>) will be sending more information out about this opportunity as the conference gets closer.
For those interested in posting a vita or a job post, please follow these directions:

Interested in posting a vita: Email the Career Link Committee at acescareerlink at gmail.com.<http://ACAA.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT00NjM5NzYwJnA9MSZ1PTc3MjA2NDAyNyZsaT0yOTczNDY2NQ/index.html> Please make sure this document is in PDF format. To keep this process as confidential as possible, the digital database containing all of the vitas will be kept under password. The only people who will have access to the electronic vita database are those who have submitted an open position. Be certain the vita you send is the one you want posted! We will be unable to post an updated vita once one is posted to the website.
Interested in posting a position: Email the Career Link Committee at acescareerlink at gmail.com.<http://ACAA.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT00NjM5NzYwJnA9MSZ1PTc3MjA2NDAyNyZsaT0yOTczNDY2NQ/index.html> Please make sure this document is in PDF format.
Once you have submitted an open position, we will send you the password information on how to access the digital database to access the vitas. Be certain the job post you send is the one you want posted! We will be unable to post an updated version once one is posted to the website.
The deadline for submitting a vita or a job post is October 2nd at midnight. Note – like last year, this is the only format in which the positions and vitas will be held. Be sure to access the website for updated postings.
