Major Work Characteristics/Summary of Position


The YSU Department of Counseling, Special Education, and School Psychology is seeking a candidate for a one-year term, Assistant Professor position in the Counseling Program. This CACREP accredited and nationally recognized program offers comprehensive training in addiction counseling, clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and student affairs/college counseling. The successful candidate will be expected to (1) teach graduate level counseling courses, engage in (2) scholarship, and (3) professional and university service.

Minimum Qualifications


Earned doctoral degree in Counselor Education from a CACREP Accredited program or doctoral candidates in Counselor Education who have completed all requirements but the dissertation (ABD) will be considered. Experience and active engagement in the field of counseling. Evidence of potential for success in teaching, service, and scholarship.

Desired Qualifications


Additional experience in addiction counseling, clinical mental health counseling, school counseling, and/or student affairs/college counseling options are preferred. Graduate teaching experience in counseling and licensure as a professional clinical counselor in Ohio are preferred.
