Graduate Assistantship (GA) opportunities in
The Patton College
2015-16
There are several GA positions available for graduate students enrolled full-time in Patton College graduate programs on the Athens Campus. These positions carry stipends of $13,000/year for master's students and $15,500/year for doctoral students and require 20 hours of work per week for the duration of fall and spring semesters (2015-16), including during finals week. Please note that these GA positions are available exclusively to students enrolled in Patton College graduate programs.
Advocacy Graduate Assistantship
The Patton College of Education Dean's Office is currently seeking a graduate assistant to lead advocacy-related initiatives during the 2015-16 academic year. The Patton College is a comprehensive college that prepares educators, practitioners, and human service professionals. The qualified candidate will be an excellent public speaker, possess superior interpersonal skills, and be highly committed to promoting positive change related to The Patton College's core values. Specific responsibilities will include coordinating the Leadership and Advocacy Summit; coordinating activities associated with the Ohio Student Education Policy Institute; engaging and coordinating the advocacy work of student organizations; arranging and coordinating visits and meetings with state legislators; and performing other duties as assigned.
Research and Administrative Graduate Assistantship
The Patton College of Education Dean's Office is currently seeking several graduate assistants to provide support in the areas of research project activities, coordination of some teaching activities, and various administrative duties. The Patton College is a comprehensive college that prepares educators, practitioners, and human service professionals. The qualified candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills, and be highly self-motivated to carry out activities with minimal supervision. Candidates should have experience with carrying out or assisting faculty with research projects, and understanding of setting priorities and responding to time-sensitive requests, and knowledge of professionalism in a work environment that requires confidentiality of activities and records.
Research Development Graduate Assistantship
The Patton College of Education Dean's Office is currently seeking a graduate assistant to work closely with the Research Grant Development Coordinator on activities directly related to grant development and proposal writing. The research focused activities will directly support the following Patton College Centers: Center for Higher Education, Literacy Center, and the Southeast Ohio Center for Excellence in Math and Science (SEOCEMS). This position requires strong writing skills, an ability to follow detailed instructions, good interpersonal communication skills, and research experiences (CITI IRB knowledge, familiarity with grant budgets, and proposal preparation).
