Dear Patton College Graduate Student,
The purpose of this correspondence is to announce that Patton College students who hold GA and GRS positions at Ohio University are eligible for summer 2015 tuition scholarships. To be eligible for summer tuition scholarships (waivers), you must hold a GA or GRS in the spring term prior to the summer that you earn the scholarship, or you must be awarded a GA or GRS in the fall term immediately following the summer term of the scholarship.  Additionally, you must apply for the summer tuition scholarship (waiver) by March 1, 2015 using the first link below.
Please note, you must enroll in at least 9 summer credit hours on the Athens campus to be eligible for this summer 2015 tuition scholarship. Your enrollment can include first term, second term, or full summer session.
Furthermore, please be aware that, while international experiences such as study abroad programs are recognized by The Patton College as rewarding learning and personal growth activities, awarding tuition waivers for study abroad is not automatic. Therefore, graduate students holding GA and GRS appointments must make special application to the International Affairs Committee in The Patton College to request tuition waivers for study abroad courses. These applications must also be received by March 1, 2015 electronically - using the second link below. Students seeking tuition waivers for study abroad courses must also submit a letter of support from your academic advisor describing the relationship between the study abroad activity and your program of study to Dr. John Henning<mailto:henningj at ohio.edu>, Associate Dean for Academic Engagement and Outreach, by March 6, 2015.
Tuition waivers for study abroad programs are expected to have a relationship to your graduate program of study, contribute to your overall learning goals as a graduate student, and prepare you for career advancement. Special consideration will be afforded to graduate students who plan to conduct research as a component of the study abroad. If you are applying for study abroad tuition waiver, be sure to submit both surveys.

All students who meet eligibility for the Athens campus summer tuition waivers will have the waivers applied to their financial account - students must apply for the tuition waivers in order to be awarded them. No special notification will be made to confirm your eligibility.

Summer study abroad tuition waivers are dependent on funds available and fit of the travel program with the academic program. Applicants will be notified of the decision regarding funding of tuition waivers during spring 2015.
