Dear CACREP Liaison:

Just a friendly reminder for your program faculty members, students, and graduates that Advocacy Week 2015<http://www.cacrep.org/cacrep-advocacy-week/> is only five days away! Our office has heard about a variety of advocacy efforts being planned by CACREP programs and we are excited to see so many counselors getting involved to promote their counselor identity! It's never too late to get your faculty and students involved - Here is a brief overview of next week's advocacy activities:


Monday 2/23: PROGRAM ADVOCACY
Create a video promoting your accredited counseling program and enter it into the Advocacy Week Video Contest<http://www.cacrep.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/1.Monday_Video-Contest-Rules-and-Entry-Form_CACREP-Advocacy-Week.pdf> for a chance to win a $500 AMAZON Gift Card. Or, identify a need within your counseling program and develop an action plan to address the need or advocate for change.



Tuesday 2/24: COMMUNITY AWARENESS ADVOCACY
Develop brochures, flyers, posters, or even short presentations to advertise your accredited counseling program as well as services offered through your campus clinic or training lab. Spread the word throughout your campus and local communities about who counselors are and what they can do.



Wednesday 2/25: PROFESSIONAL SERVICE ADVOCACY
Get involved in local, state, or national service opportunities within professional counseling organizations. Serve and promote your profession globally by donating used counseling textbooks through the IRCEP book drive<http://www.cacrep.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/IRCEP-Book-Drive-Poster.pdf> to help counseling programs in need around the world.



Thursday 2/26: SOCIAL NETWORK ADVOCACY
Promote public awareness of counselors by sharing links to news articles, resources, infographics, or announcements from counseling organizations on social networks. Personalize your efforts by posting about life in a CACREP-accredited program or your thoughts on current professional issues.


Friday 2/27: POLITICAL ADVOCACY
Contact your state counseling licensure board, department of education, or government representatives advocating for standardized education requirements that include CACREP accreditation. Ask ACA for their public support of CACREP in promoting one national education standard for counselors.
