> Good Morning,
>
> On behalf of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE) I am excited to invite you to the 16th Annual National Rehabilitation Educators Conference in Newport Beach, CA, to be held on April 20-22, 2016.
>
> Our 2016 conference is an opportunity for rehabilitation counselor educators, practitioners, researchers, trainers, students and HRD personnel to submit proposals that address state of the art practices and future directions in rehabilitation counselor education and research. Both empirically based (qualitative and quantitative) and conceptually oriented proposals are invited.
>
> The conference theme “Redefining Our Identity: New Challenges, New Perspectives, A Bright Future for Rehabilitation Counselor Education.” encourages proposals focusing on current issues in counselor education, practice, and research with an emphasis on how can we take rehabilitation counselor education to that next level. As you prepare your proposal ask yourself “How my project keeps rehabilitation counseling and education relevant?”
>
> The conference features the following tracks that must respond to the theme
> Rehabilitation Counselor Education
> Multicultural Aspects of Rehabilitation Counseling and Education
> International Rehabilitation: Current, New, and Promising Relationships
> Rehabilitation Public Policy and Legislation
> Rehabilitation Research and Research Methods
> NCRE seeks to enrich and broaden the content for the conference by featuring the following presentation formats
> Concurrent Presentation Proposal
> Seminar Presentation Proposal
> Roundtable Discussion Proposal
> Scientific Poster Presentation Proposal
> Please be sure to read through all of the components of the Call for Proposals. Every year there are changes, so reviewing all pages is critical even if you have submitted a spring conference proposal before.
>
> Dr. William “Bill” Downey Scientific Poster Presentation Award Fund
> Dr. Bill Downey was a Professor in the Rehabilitation Counseling in the Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies at The University of Arizona – the very same department where he completed his PhD in 1979. Bill dedicated his life to the field of rehabilitation counseling and provided his expertise and passion in various capacities for over 35 years.
>
> Inspired by his commitment to recognize research by students, NCRE established the Dr. William “Bill” Downey Scientific Poster Presentation Award to annually support students to attend the NCRE training conference to interact with rehabilitation educators and professionals.
>
> The Lead Review Team will select the top 3 Scientific Poster Proposals submitted by a Student Member of NCRE to be considered for the Award. More details on eligibility, requirements, selection process, and the awards can be found in the NCRE Spring 2016 CFP POSTER PROPOSAL document.
