Hello!

My name is Cassandra Pusateri, and I am the chairperson for the 2014-2015 Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) Awards Committee.  I am writing to request that you share the information below with your students, site supervisors, and colleagues.  Thank you very much for your time!

The Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) invites you to nominate a deserving counseling professional or educator for one of the following awards.  Nominees must be active members of OCA and should not be previous recipients of the award.  Nominations for the following awards are due by September 30, 2014.

Charles "Chuck" Weaver Award:  The recipient of this award has and continues to show consistent and distinguished service to the counseling profession and exemplary caring for people.

Dave Brooks Award:  The recipient of this award demonstrates a willingness to serve and take responsibility, while creating new paths in the counseling profession.

Herman J. Peters Award:  The recipient of this award promotes innovative ideas and theories in the counseling field and is making a significant impact on future trends.

Susan J. Sears Counselor of the Year Award:  The recipient of this award goes beyond the call of duty by demonstrating exceptional service through the application of OCA goals.

Research and Writing Award:  The recipient of this award demonstrates extraordinary research and writing ability through journal publications for the counseling profession.

Public Policy and Legislation Award:  The recipient of this award demonstrates excellent advocacy by engaging in meaningful lobbying on behalf of the counseling profession.

If you decide to nominate a counseling professional or educator, please submit the following materials to Cassandra Pusateri, OCA Awards Committee Chair, at cpusateri at ysu.edu<mailto:cpusateri at ysu.edu>.

 *   Supporting statement or letter of 500 words or less outlining ways in which the nominee meets the award criteria (please see descriptions above)

The recipients of the OCA awards will be recognized at the 2014 All Ohio Counselors Conference Awards Ceremony.
