COUNSELOR EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR POSTION IN BEAUTIFUL COLORADO SPRINGS
The Department of Counseling and Human Services at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs seeks to fill a non-tenure track Instructor position to teach graduate courses related to the Clinical Mental Health (CACREP accredited) and Counseling and Leadership programs beginning August 2013. The selected instructor will be part of a dynamic and team-orientated group of counselor educators who teach mental health, school, and military counseling.
Qualifications: We are seeking an individual with teaching and clinical experience in counseling. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education is preferred; however, applicants holding a master's degree in counseling with significant teaching and/or clinical experience will be considered. Graduates of CACREP accredited programs and those who demonstrate a primary professional identity as a counselor/counselor educator are preferred. Specific experience in the areas of multicultural counseling, diverse populations, military personnel and families, addictions, counselor supervision and outpatient mental health counseling are also preferred.
Responsibilities: The incumbent will be expected to provide exemplary, face-to-face, hybrid and online instruction, quality advising/mentoring for students, as well as service to the department, College of Education and the University. Specifically, the candidate will have a 9-month contract, teach full time and will have the possibility of annual renewal. There may be opportunities for summer teaching.
