One Assistant Professor In School Counseling, Three Assistant/Associate Professors In Clinical Mental Health Counseling
The CACREP-accredited Counseling Program at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for four tenure/tenure track full-time positions: one Assistant Professor in School Counseling, one Assistant Professor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and two Assistant/Associate Professors in Clinical Mental Health Counseling starting Fall 2013. We are a vibrant, collegial faculty whose mission encompasses the fostering of creativity, diversity, and relational development.
Responsibilities for all ranks: teaching masters and doctoral counseling courses, offered primarily in the evening, at either the UTSA Downtown Campus or 1604 Campus; conducting and publishing research; writing grant proposals; collaborating with colleagues; advising students; and performing service activities.
Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor in School Counseling: Doctorate from a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program to be completed by June 15, 2013; professional counseling identity; professional association affiliations; demonstrated teaching and research potential; experience as a school counselor; and experience with and/or knowledge of culturally diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications for Assistant Professor: Eligibility for: Texas Certified School Counselor (CSC), Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC -S); bilingual in Spanish and English; and a record of research publications.
Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Doctorate from a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program to be completed by June 15, 2013; professional counseling identity; professional association affiliations; demonstrated teaching and research potential; experience as a mental health counselor; and experience with and/or knowledge of culturally diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications for Assistant Professor: Eligibility for: Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC -S); bilingual in Spanish and English; and a record of research publications
Required Qualifications for Associate Professor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Doctorate from a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Program, with a professional identity as a counselor educator and affiliation with counseling associations; teaching experience in counselor education at the Assistant/Associate Professor level; experience as a mental health counselor; record of research and publication; leadership experience in professional organizations; and experience with and knowledge of culturally diverse populations. Preferred Qualifications for Associate Professor: Eligibility for: Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC -S); Prior experience serving on dissertation committees; experience in writing and administering grants; record of securing external funding, expertise with educational technology; experience supervising counseling students in practicum and internship; and bilingual in English and Spanish.
Applicants must submit an original signed letter of application that specifies which rank they wish to be considered for and that addresses qualifications for the position. In addition, applicants must send a current vita, contact information for three references who may be contacted immediately, and a minimum of one and up to three professional writing samples. Writing samples may include but are not limited to scholarly publications, newsletters, chapters of a dissertation, or portfolio samples.
