Counselor Education Professional Counseling Assistant Professor:
We are seeking candidates with expertise in the areas of human development and counseling with children and families, as well as the ability to teach core courses in counseling curriculum, effective August 15, 2013. Required: Doctorate in counselor education or related area; professional identity as a counselor educator, eligibility for national certification and Michigan licensure. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following: research methods, addictions, or web-based learning. The faculty positions involve both undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising, supervising student research, grant writing, university service, and maintaining an active research program. A doctorate is required for the rank of Assistant Professor and above. ABD candidates will be considered for the instructor rank, if degree is completed within 1 year of the date of hire. Upon completion of doctorate degree, rank will advance to assistant professor. Applicants must have evidence of potential for teaching effectiveness and research productivity for the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor.
