Call for Manuscripts:
Special Issue of the Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling

Dr. Elias Mpofu of the University of Sydney, the editor of theAustralian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling, the official journal of the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors, is disseminating a Call for Submissions for a Special Issue of the journal entitled, “Family Support and Adjustment Following Acquired Brain Injury: An International Perspective.”  Dr. Charles Edmund Degeneffe of San Diego State University will serve as Guest Editor.  The special issue of the Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling will be published in Fall 2013.

The purpose of this special issue is to develop an international perspective on how families are affected following acquired brain injury, due to such causes as motor vehicle accidents, strokes, assaults, and with military personnel, improvised explosive devices. Further, the issue will address new innovations in how families are supported through technology, government programs, and evidence-based individual and group counseling interventions. Given differences globally with injury etiology, veteran support, social service funding, and familial cultural values, the issue will seek the work of authors from Asia, Oceania, North America, South America, Africa, and Europe. The Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling will accept empirical articles describing quantitative or qualitative studies, as well as policy reviews, comprehensive literature analyses, and agency programs (both governmental and non-governmental).

Each manuscript should be approximately 25 double-spaced, typed pages in length (including references, tables, and figures). All manuscripts submitted for consideration for publication will be processed through the standard Australian Journal of Rehabilitation Counselling manuscript peer review procedures described at: https://www.australianacademicpress.com.au/journals/details/15/Australian_Journal_of_Rehabilitation_Counselling<http://ncre.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=d5a2da3c1a53350f31f65bdb3&id=769a841eb7&e=6285364a67>

The title page should indicate the manuscript is being considered for publication in the special issue.

Manuscripts need to be submitted by January 1, 2013 for publication consideration in the special issue.
