Position: Assistant/Associate Professor, School Counseling (Tenure-Track)
Start Date: September 2012

Description: The school counseling faculty member teaches in a CACREP-accredited graduate counseling program focused on preparing counselors to be leaders for a just and humane world. The school counseling faculty works with a multidisciplinary team of 9 full-time faculty in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology. Primary responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, and service. Other responsibilities include supervising practicum and internship students, advising, developing collaborative relationships with P-12 schools, involvement with state and national professional associations, and serving on advisory boards. We seek candidates who promote the College of Education's multicultural initiatives and will prepare counselors to be leaders and advocates for social justice. Courses may include: Internship, Child and Adolescent Counseling and Development, Assessment, Comprehensive School Counseling, Career Development, Advocacy and Leadership, and other courses based on department needs.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program; minimum of 2 years of successful P-12 experience; commitment to Transforming School Counseling, social justice, and urban schools. Preferred: Familiarity with CACREP accreditation; Knowledge of Education Trust initiatives; successful University level teaching experience; potential for leadership responsibilities; and interest in the university areas of community engagement, justice, leadership, formation and globalization.
Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience. Additional stipend for summer teaching.
