Guidance Counselor - Jennings Local School District

Jennings Local School is seeking applicants for a 7-12 guidance counselor
position with possible additional duties in the elementary.  Candidates must
possess appropriate certification or license.  Flexibility is a key as we are a K-
12 building. This position may or may not be full time and may require several
periods of teaching.   Jennings Local, a small rural district in Northwest Ohio,
has earned an "Excellent" report card for ten years in a row.  We currently
enroll 398 students in grades K-12.


Ideally, the candidate would bring to the school system a variety of
experiences to support the management of the following responsibilities:

*    Individual and/or group counseling
*    Organizational, communication and time management skills
*    Assisting students with course registration and meeting graduation
requirements
*    Assist students with college applications, scholarships and career
exploration
*    Managing the local scholarship program
*    Managing and facilitating the state testing program (K-12)
*    Managing student records
*    Knowledge of EMIS reporting
*    Knowledge of Middle and Elementary school services is a plus as we
are a K-12 building
*    Knowledge of the IAT process and special education services
*    Ability to network with personnel from other districts, the Career
Center, and higher education to meet the needs of students engaging in
programming beyond our building
*    Knowledge of Career Technical Education
*    Awareness of integrating Individualized Education Plans
*    Effective student/parent/community communication skills
*    Interest in working with highly-motivated students and students
with varying educational levels
*    Conflict resolution
*    Technology skills including email, Power Point, Microsoft Office,
DASL, and electronic grade book (Progressbook)
*    Creativity
*    Knowledge of student scheduling and creating Master Schedules for
7-12
