The following postings are from the University of Alabama at Birmingham; one is a tenure track position (Clinical Mental Health)  and two are non tenure track, but promotable positions (Clinical Placement Coordinator and Clinic Director).  The teaching load of the two non tenure track positions are 4/4, but will be reduced because of job responsibilities.  Applicants may send required documents electronically, except transcripts. The University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications and nominations for a 9-month, tenure track academic appointment (assistant or associate professor rank) to teach in the Counselor Education Program beginning the fall of 2012.
Candidates for this position should have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited university.  ABD candidates will be considered, but must provide evidence of completion date being within May 2012.  Candidates must also have a commitment to excellence in teaching and expertise in counselor education and supervision and be familiar with CACREP accreditation requirements.  Experience in online and blended instruction is a plus.
Preference will be given to candidates who hold a credential as a licensed professional counselor or are eligible for licensure in Alabama.  Candidates should have relevant work experience in a higher education setting and/or teaching experience in a higher education program.  Lastly, associate professor aspirants should have evidence of scholarly productivity, including publications in recognized clinical mental health counseling or related journals as well as a successful record with applying for and receiving external funding.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:  teaching graduate counselor education courses, advising counselor education students, providing counseling supervision, committing to a definite program of research, actively participating in program and departmental activities; university committees, professional counseling organizations.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking applications and nominations for a non-tenure earning position focusing on teaching and coordination of the Counselor Education Community Clinic (CECC) for the Counselor Education Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham beginning the fall of 2012.

Candidates for this position should have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited university.  ABD candidates will be considered, but must provide evidence of completion date within May of 2012. Candidates must be licensed as a professional counselor and clinical supervisor in the state of Alabama, or be eligible to be licensed as a professional counselor and clinical supervisor in the state of Alabama.  Candidates must be familiar with the operations of a community clinic, or one located within a Counselor Education Program, and familiar with CACREP accreditation requirements.


Candidates should have a commitment to excellence in teaching and expertise in counselor education and supervision.  Experience in online and blended instruction is a plus. Candidates should have relevant work experience in a higher education setting and/or teaching experience in a higher education program.
