Show, by your actions, that you choose peace over war, freedom over oppression, voice over silence, service over self-interest, respect over advantage, cooperation over competition, action over passivity, diversity over uniformity, and justice over all.

Subject: Paid Clinical Internship
The Wellness Center in Toledo, Ohio will have one (perhaps two) internship(s) in a Chemical Dependency Program that is interdisciplinary treating mostly Opiate Addiction. We offer Intensive Outpatient Programs, Counseling Groups, Assessments, and Individual Counseling at this point.
We will be expanding our program significantly in September 2012. Currently, we have a caseload of 30 opiate addicted clients and will be expanding to 100 clients in September.
The clients we treat here have some common challenges. More than half of our clients are dually, and we treat those clients here as well. Our clientele is mostly from a low-socioeconomic population, which has its own challenges. Our program consists of many cultures and diverse populations.
Our approach to treatment is holistic, addressing the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of the clients. Our program has a Christian approach; however, clients of all faiths/spirituality/religions have and are attending as well.
A small stipend is offered. The successful candidate will need to make a six month commitment to service to the program. Clinical supervision is conducted onsite by myself. The days that the candidate must attend are: from 2/3 PM to 7 PM Mondays and Thursdays and 9/10 AM until 6 PM on Wednesdays. This could change if we make changes to our program. We are continually changing the program to meet the needs of our clients and to improve the services they receive.
In addition to an application, the candidate will be required additional information. Before a candidate is interviewed, he or she will need a letter from his or her internship coordinator or instructor stating that the candidate has completed all necessary course work and enrolled in internship. In addition, the candidate must have taken or is currently taking a graduate level substance abuse/addiction course.
Please call myself at 419.842.0140 (Mondays through Thursdays 9 AM to 6 PM and Fridays 9 AM to 1 PM) to learn more. I am looking to start interviews by mid-May.
Peace and all good,
