Hi All,

The Counselor Education Program at the University of South Carolina is pleased to announce that we will be hiring two new faculty members this year. One position is a tenure track position and the other is a clinical faculty position which is based on renewable terms. The information for each of the positions is listed below. We hope to do some preliminary discussions with potential applicants at the ACES conference.

Department of Educational Studies

Assistant Professor: Counselor Education
Requires a doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP-accredited program. This tenure-track position will reside in the Counselor Education Programs of the Department of Educational Studies. Responsibilities include graduate teaching in the Educational Specialist program with specific duties in the Marriage, Couples & Family Counseling program and in the PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision program; pursuing an active research agenda; obtaining external funding; and providing program, college, and community service. Previous experience chairing or serving on doctoral dissertation committees is preferred. The ability to support the development of the Play Therapy Certificate Program at USC through the holding of the Registered Play Therapist certificate would be an added qualification. This is a 9-month position, with the availability of summer teaching based on program need.
The University: The University of South Carolina has been designated as one of only 73 public and 35 private academic institutions with "very high research activity" by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
