"Breaking Down Barriers: Exploring Transgender Needs in Higher Education", presented by the Graduate Student Senate, is a panel focused on increasing awareness of the experiences of transgender students at Ohio University. The panel will be held on Tuesday, October 4th from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the Scripps Hall, Anderson Auditorium. The presentation is free and open to the public.



The purpose of this panel is to open a dialogue with teaching assistants, faculty and future educators on how we may better meet the needs, and embrace the humanity, of transgender students in our classrooms.



Topics of discussion will include: Gender-neutral housing, transgender-oriented campus programming, classroom experiences, health care and being an effective ally.
