> The Department of Rehabilitation at The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) seeks applications for a Clinical Instructor position due to growth in student enrollment in existing degree programs and establishment of a doctoral degree program.

> The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) is located in Edinburg, TX, 15 miles from the border with Mexico and one-hour away from tropical South Padre Island. UTPA is a comprehensive regional university with an enrollment of 19,000 students. The Department of Rehabilitation has BS, MS (CORE accredited) & Ph.D. degree programs and has Undergraduate specialty tracks in Addictions Studies and Rehabilitation of Individuals who are Deaf. Currently, the program has $4 million in U.S. Department of Education grants including 6 Long-term Training grants. The Department currently has 14 full-time Faculty positions with 12 tenured or tenure track faculty.

> QUALIFICATIONS: Required:
> (1) Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related area
> (2) A minimum of 3 years post master’s professional work experience in the field with at least 2 years in direct client service
> (3) CRC or CRC eligible.

> Preferred for the position:
> (1) ABD or doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or closely related field
> (2) Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas
> (3) Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in Texas
> (4) Experience in Counselor and Counselor Intern Supervision
> (5) Experience in managing a direct service clinic.
> 
> DUTIES: Depending upon qualifications, the primary responsibility of this position will be to teach the field experience courses including internship and practicum in both the Undergraduate and Graduate Programs. Depending upon workload, this position may also teach academic courses. Additional duties include managing and supervising student placements, developing new clinical affiliation sites, and maintaining positive relationships with current sites.
