>  The Curry School of Education, Department of Human Services at the University of Virginia, invites applications for an Associate Professor or Professor academic appointment in the area of School Counseling, and the academic program in Counselor Education, beginning August 25, 2012. This appointment is tenure eligible and the rank will be determined upon the qualifications of the selected incumbent. A doctorate (PhD or EdD) in Counselor Education with emphasis in School Counseling is required. Successful candidates must have a demonstrated record of scholarship in top-tier journals and a record of securing external funding through roles as either Principal Investigator or a senior collaborator (e.g., co-PI, methodologist). Candidates must also have a strong interest and requisite skills in teaching and advising students in School Counseling. The successful incumbent must have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education with appropriate School Counseling credentials and experience. The incumbent must also have the appropriate background to serve as full-time faculty member in a CACREP-accredited program in School Counseling with appropriate School Counseling expertise, experience, and skills for a supervisory role. In addition, the incumbent is expected to have an interest in and commitment to: (a) building collaborative partnerships with area schools, community colleges and agencies serving children and youth, (b) efficient, effective, and comprehensive school counseling programs for children and youth, focusing on career, academic, and personal/social development, and (c) evidence-based methods for successful services for children and youth in school settings. Candidates must demonstrate an explicit commitment to, and accomplishments in, teaching, research, and/or service that contribute to advancing understanding and outcomes for underrepresented groups.
