Arkansas State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in its CACREP-approved School Counseling program. This position includes a full-time teaching assignment in courses within the CACREP core and school counseling specialty curricula, supervising practicum students and interns, advising graduate students, engaging in scholarly activity, and providing service to the institution and the profession. Courses in the teaching load will be determined based upon departmental need and the candidate’s interests.
Summer teaching is expected. Salary is competitive for the rank based on experience and other qualifications. MINIMUM Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education with expertise in school counseling. ABD applicants will be considered with expectation of doctorate to be completed within first year of hire. A school counseling credential is required or must be obtained within the first year.
Department, University and Community: Psychology and Counseling is housed in the College of Education (NCATE-accredited) and is comprised of 17 faculty members representing a diversity of preparation areas. The department offers an undergraduate degree program in psychology and graduate programs in college student personnel services (college counseling and student affairs practice), mental health counseling, rehabilitation counseling (CORE-accredited), school psychology (NASP-accredited), and school counseling (CACREP-accredited).
