POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Assistant Professor - Counseling
The University of Texas at Brownsville

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Full-Time Tenure Track position in a CACREP-accredited Counseling program offered for Fall 2012. Responsibilities include teaching master's level counseling courses, supervising practicum students at off campus sites and university training lab, advising, program development, scholarly activities and participating in university and professional activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must have earned doctorate in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, or related area. Doctorate from a CACREP (Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) approved program is preferred. Demonstrated success in school counseling, university counseling center or community counseling agency experience is required. Successful University teaching is preferred. The candidate should be licensed or eligible for licensure in Texas. Candidate must be able to work with a majority of Hispanic student population.
