Appointment to begin August 1, 2012 or later. Selectee is required to complete the COE New Faculty orientation in the first year and will undergo a criminal background check.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and teach courses in rehabilitation counseling programs through off-campus, on-line and using various other distance delivery technologies.
2. Supervise practicum and internship students
3. Serve as academic and thesis advisor to graduate students
4. Maintain an active program of research and publications
5. Seek external funding and grant opportunities
6. Actively participate in national accreditation and program review activities
7. Provide service to the department, college, university and community

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Earned doctorate from an accredited institution prior to start date in rehabilitation counseling or closely related field;
2. Graduate course work in rehabilitation counseling must be evident in related doctorate;
3. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor or certified by start date;
4. Successful teaching experience in rehabilitation counseling;
5. Experience providing clinical supervision to counseling trainees;
6. Minimum of 2 years experience providing direct services to a wide range of people with disabilities; and
7. Evidence of experience using instructional technology and distance education.

Desirable Qualifications
• Experience working in the State-Federal Vocational Rehabilitation system
• Experience and/or training in substance abuse counseling, psychiatric rehabilitation and/or forensics
• Experience in grant writing
• Experience in accommodating students with disabilities in higher education
• Experience working with multicultural student and client populations, and a record of professional and scholarly productivity in refereed journals
