Dr. Perry is featured on CNN's Black in America and is the founder and Principal of the Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut, recognized as one of America's best high schools. He is author of "Raggedy Schools: The Untold Truth", and "Man Up! Nobody is Coming to Save Us".

Born and reared in the housing projects of Middletown, Connecticut, Dr. Steve Perry believes that life is not determined by where you begin, but by the path chosen and where you end.

This event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Black Student Cultural Programming Board and the Office of Multicultural Programs and Multicultural Center.
