The Department of Counseling, Adult and Rehabilitation Education (CARE)
invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position in Rehabilitation
Counseling in the College of Education. The faculty member will be eligible to
apply for promotion.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time nine-month position in the
Department of Counseling, Adult and Rehabilitation Education (CARE), Position
# R97585. The Search Committee will begin reviewing applications on May 2,
2011. The position will remain open until filled. The starting date will be
August 18, 2011. Summer employment is possible dependent on program need
and University resources. The Rehabilitation Counseling program is a high
enrollment, online CORE accredited Master’s Degree with five full time
program faculty members. Responsibilities include (1) developing and teaching
online graduate courses in Rehabilitation and/or Counseling; (2) advising
graduate students; (3) supervising clinical experiences; (4) working
cooperatively with rehabilitation organizations and agencies; (5) serving on
university committees; and (6) engaging in other service and research
activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: An earned doctorate in Counseling, Rehabilitation, or a related field.
ABD may be considered, though degree must be completed by position start
date of Fall Semester 2011.
Preferred: CRC and Arkansas LPC eligibility; Work experience as a
Rehabilitation Counselor; Demonstrated excellence (or potential) in teaching,
scholarship, and service; Strong interpersonal skills; Online teaching
experience; Experience in academic program development helpful;
Knowledgeable of national trends in Rehabilitation Counseling; Grant writing
experience.
