Job Announcement
Assistant/Associate Professor of Rehabilitation Counseling
Setting:College of Education, Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation,
Counseling/School Psychology
Position:A tenure track position in the Department of Special Education,
Rehabilitation, Counseling/School Psychology at the Assistant/Associate
Professor rank beginning August 2011.
Responsibilities:
•Teach undergraduate and/or combination undergraduate/graduate courses in
supported employment, occupational information, career counseling, assistive
technology, etc. (on-campus and distance).
•Prepare research grant/contract applications to secure funding for an
innovative supported employment model program for persons with ASD and/or
those with the Most Significant Disabilities.
•Conduct research and prepare manuscripts for publication in professional
journals.
•Participate in professional outreach and community activities related to
supported employment.
•Participate in department, college, and university committees.
Qualifications:Required
•Doctoral degree in rehabilitation counseling or closely related area with an
emphasis in supported employment.
•Certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
•Demonstrated experience in college/university teaching, clinical education
and/or professional training.
•Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and persons with
disabilities.

•Supported employment
•Rehabilitation/advocacy outreach activities
•Professional leadership

appointment is scheduled to begin and continue to work legally for the
proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.
