FULL-TIME FACULTY –Counseling Department at Argosy University/Atlanta. Applications are invited for a full time faculty member to join the counseling department in the current academic year, beginning in Fall 2010. The Counseling Department offers an MA in Community Counseling, a Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy and an EdD in Counselor Education & Supervision.  Faculty responsibilities include teaching both evening and weekend graduate courses, student advising, admissions reviews, program administration duties, and participation in university-wide and department committees and serve on dissertation committees.



Candidates should have earned a doctorate in Counseling, Counselor Education and Supervision, or a related mental health field from a CACREP-accredited program. Candidates should also have a strong identification with the field of counseling. ABDs will be considered with the expectation their degree is conferred by start of appointment. LPC licensure and/or Licensure eligibility in Georgia is required. License elgible candidates must acquire licensure within one year of hire date.



We have a strong preference for those who have earned a doctorate in Counselor Education and are licensed as Professional Counselors in the state of Georgia. Since our faculty is largely practitioner-based, preference will be given to applicants who have experience with diverse populations in a community mental health setting. Other appropriate credentials, certifications, etc., are highly desirable as are experience with supervision of graduate counseling students and familiarity with CACREP standards. Teaching experience is required, preferably with non-traditional teaching formats for adult learners.



We are particularly seeking candidates with a strong interest in teaching in the following areas: Research and Statistics though area of specialization is open.
