The College of Education and Human Development at Lamar University, Department of Counseling and Special Populations invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions (2) in Counseling.

The Counseling Program offers the M.Ed. in Counseling and Development with emphases in school and community counseling. Responsibilities include teaching graduate level courses in the program, supervision of practicum, maintaining a research agenda and scholarly activities, advisement, and other functions necessary for excellence in counselor education.

Rank and salary commensurate with experience level. Appointment to begin January 2011.

Minimum Qualifications


An earned doctorate in the discipline Counselor Education preferred, counseling and/or clinical experience, and a record demonstrating excellence in teaching are expected. It is highly desirable that applicants possess (or be eligible for) State of Texas LPC or School Counselor Certification. Collaboration with university faculty and staff and P-12 schools and educators as well as involvement in professional organizations are expected.

Preference given to prior experience with online teaching and to individuals having school counseling experience.
