Show, by your actions, that you choose peace over war, freedom over oppression, voice over silence, service over self-interest, respect over advantage, cooperation over competition, action over passivity, diversity over uniformity, and justice over all.

Subject: Writing Courses for Graduate Students Winter Quarter

Dear Graduate Chair, Director, or Advisor within the Patton College of Education and Human Sciences:
Please announce to any interested students the Graduate Writing courses that we are offering in English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) in Linguistics this Winter Quarter. We have had many students within your college take these writing courses and we always appreciate the diverse viewpoints and many strengths they offer to our classes.
The Thesis/Dissertation Writing class is especially popular. It covers how to organize sources for the literature for a thesis/dissertation, how to write up main ideas and supporting ideas, how to cite following their disciplines citation guide, how to avoid plagiarism, and how to proofread/correct grammatical errors.

The courses are 3 credit hours and are for credit only so they don't affect GPA as long as a passing grade is attained. They count for graduate credit as well.

ELIP 516-Thesis/Dissertation Writing, 3 credit hours
Thurs 5:10-7:00pm & individual conferences (Call # 03199), Ellis 108

ELIP 514-Advanced Graduate Writing, 3 credit hours
TTh 12:10-1:30pm (Call # 03198), Clippinger 133
Includes summaries, literature reviews, & critiques; citation of sources & plagiarism; and sentence structure, vocabulary & critical reading.

More information for all courses can be found at: http://www.ohio.edu/linguistics/elip/
Feel free to forward this on to anyone who might be interested.

Let me know if you have any questions,
Dawn Bikowski
