Subject: Kindermusik Good Beginnings Grant program
Hello Colleagues,
If any of you are working with children you may be interested in the following grant program. I thought I would pass it along. The application is pretty simple, but note the tight deadline.
Take care,
Clay Rowell
I wanted you to be aware of a new grants program that Kindermusik International launched this week. Note: Deadline for application is December 16.
The Kindermusik Good Beginnings Grant program is looking for parents, teachers, schools, non-profits, and small businesses who have an idea that will make the lives of children better.
What is the Good Beginnings Grants Program?
The Kindermusik Good Beginnings Grants are your chance to earn $1,000 to put toward any project you think will make a difference in the lives of children. It can be educational, playful, musical-it's totally up to you! The public will vote to decide which five projects earn Good Beginnings Grants. Ideas like:
* Add universally accessible playground equipment at your school
* Create and offer a class for parents and children to help with the transition to Kindergarten
* Create a database of service providers who work with children with special needs in your area
How does it work?
1. Qualified individuals and organizations apply for the Kindermusik Good Beginnings Grant Program online at www.kindermusik.com/grants<http://www.kindermusik.com/grants>. Applications will be accepted now through December 16, 2010. Applicants will be strongly encouraged to include a video and photo. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and residents of the United States or Canada.
2. After the application deadline passes, all grants will be reviewed to ensure that they meet the qualifications.
3. In January, all qualified grant applications will be posted to the above webpage for the general public to view and vote on the applications they like. Finalists would use social networking sites (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc.) to self-promote and drive "Voter" traffic to the site. In addition, Voters may also promote the submissions for which they are supporting via social networking sites.
4. The five submissions with the highest number of votes would be eligible to receive a grant valued at $1,000 US.
5. After receiving the grant, grant awardees would be required to submit a minimum of one update to KI. KI would use these updates, which would include video and photographs, to promote both the Kindermusik brand and the Fund.
