The GRADUATE PROGRAM IN COUNSELING at Messiah College invites applications for a full-time, term-tenure track position in Counseling, with a specialty in School Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Responsibilities: Teach online graduate courses in the School Counseling and/or Clinical Mental Health Counseling tracks and other courses in the Counseling program depending candidate's interests and program needs; supervise practica and internships; maintain an active scholarly agenda; advise graduate students; and engage in institutional service.
Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred, but ABD considered, in Counselor Education as well as certification as a school counselor or license as a professional counselor. A profession of Christian faith and a commitment to the mission of Messiah College is required. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching and scholarship, have experience in the appropriate field, and have experience in using an online educational format.

The College: Messiah College is a Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences. The College is committed to an embracing spirit rooted in the Anabaptist, Pietist, and Wesleyan traditions of the Christian Church. Our mission is to educate men and women toward maturity of intellect, character, and Christian faith in preparation for lives of service, leadership, and reconciliation in church and society. Messiah College is a teaching institution which emphasizes instruction but values research and public service. Strong support is given to faculty growth and scholarship.

The Counseling Program at Messiah College is designed to help prepare students to become competent counselors who are capable of working in multiple settings. As such, they will be prepared to serve others in the counseling process, develop their leadership abilities in the counseling field, and seek to reconcile relationships within the counseling setting. Starting Date for Position: Fall 2011

Compensation: Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
