The School of Education and Human Development at the University of
Southern Maine is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position preferably
at the Assistant Professor level for the Counselor Education Program in
the Rehabilitation Counseling specialty area. The USM Counselor Education
program is accredited by both CACREP (school and clinical mental health)
and CORE (rehabilitation).
The successful candidate for this position must: 1) have an earned
doctorate in counselor education or closely related field prior to
September 1, 2011; 2) be credentialed or eligible for credentialing as a
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC); 2) have clinical supervision
training and experience; 3) grant-writing competence; and 4) experience
with or commitment to distance learning. College teaching at the graduate
level, experience as a rehabilitation counselor and Licensed Clinical
Professional Counselor (LCPC) eligibility are preferred.
The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) demonstrate evidence of
research and scholarly potential; 2) teach three classes per semester,
including courses in rehabilitation counselor preparation; and 3) be
actively involved in service to the college, university, and profession,
including coordination of CORE re-accreditation.
The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Please
