As announced in the Advocate earlier this month, the 2011 American Mental Health Counselors Association's Conference Call for Programs<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?AmericanMentalHealth/8b4c738ee4/89d08612eb/98e90f3f5b> has been announced and proposals are now being accepted for The Power of Partnerships: Effective Pathways to Mental Health, AMHCA's Annual Conference in San Francisco, July 14-16, 2011.

Share Your Knowledge & Experiences!
We invite AMHCA members, mental health counseling students and other mental health professionals to present their research and expertise at the only conference devoted entirely to the mental health counseling profession.

Types of Programs:
Three-hour workshop
Two-hour workshop
One-hour program
Poster session

If you are looking for ideas for your submission you might consider the following:

 1.  Brain functioning, neuroscience and physio psychology
 2.  Strengthening marriage & family relationships
 3.  Child & adolescent psychology, life span development and neuroscience
 4.  Counseling for aging individuals and their caregivers
 5.  Military & military family counseling—PTSD, Addictions, etc.
 6.  Topics for new clinical mental health counselors
 7.  Effective trauma treatment approaches
 8.  Recovering from addictions
 9.  Ethics in practice
Feel free to pass these suggestions on to others who may be interested in submitting a program and looking for ideas. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, December 15, 2010, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
