<p>The vendor picked up the file on schedule this morning and immediately began the required process. At this time we have no reason to believe that this will take longer than our original window - we certainly hope to get the file back around noon and complete
the steps to make it available for you. The memory in the server has already been addressed and the server is ready to go.</p>

<p>If we receive any information from the vendor that would indicate a delay we'll let you know right away so that you can plan accordingly. Past history assures us that the folks at Scantron are very competent and conscientious about the effect this is having
on a production system.</p>

<p style="background: white;"><span style="color: fuchsia; font-family: "Comic Sans MS"; font-size: 14pt;">Due to the issues that customers have encountered with the class climate system, we have been working with the vendor for the past two days to determine
the best solution. Based on our work we have determined that we have to take the system for a short time and have the vendor execute some database maintenance, and have our systems staff increase the memory on the server. It looks as if our usage has increased
to the point that we need additional resources to handle the load at critical times. To that end we have scheduled the following:</span></p>

<u>shut down </u>in order for OIT systems administration to execute steps necessary to increase server memory. Following that, we will prepare the database for required maintenance tasks by the vendor.
<u>The application will remain down and unavailable until approximately noon tomorrow, 4/15/2015.</u> As long as we do not encounter any unforeseen issues, at that time the service will be restored with twice as much memory in the server and a completely refreshed
and repaired database. By doing this the semester end processes should run correctly.</span></p>
